Now that you’re here, know that I’ll be using this outlet to show you the highs and lows of adoption and parenthood. My husband and I are, hopefully, close to welcoming our first child via adoption. From what I’ve heard, and what I’ve experienced already, there will be plenty to talk about as we navigate our way through the parenting jungle.

 

Because I’m a terrible liar, I’m going to do my best to keep things honest around here. So, say hello to the chick who loves finding humor in the darkest of times, making things awkward and using the fuck word until it’s lost all meaning.

 

Ding, ding, ding! There it is; the whole “foul mouth” part of this blog. That wasn’t so bad, was it? I’ll make a sailor out of you yet!

 

A little more about me. My husband and I have been married for eight years and together for over a decade. We’ve spent the last ten years being young, wildly in love, and incredibly selfish (and we knew it!). We were in no rush to shake up our own paradise. Only recently has "building our family" become a priority for us.

 

After starting down the adoption path in January of 2018, we quickly realized adoption isn’t something you do…it’s something you live—every day, without reserve or fear of consequence. So, we tossed our fears to the wind and dove in headfirst.

 

Fast forward to today and you’ll find we’re still relatively young and VERY MUCH in love but we’ve traded in city views and hipster hangouts for more bedrooms and a better school district. Our sole focus is to bring home our future child and I’d love to take you along!

 

So, stay tuned as I update you on the highs and lows of the adoption process and learn from all of our inevitable mistakes so you don’t have to (you’re welcome).
